No matter what, you have to make sure that you do enough research about whatever car you are interested in.  Get the vehicle identification number off of any car that you look at, and make sure to check the history to make sure that it doesn’t have any major issues.  This is a simple step that is often overlooked, but it can turn a great prospect into a lemon in a few minutes if the history is bad.
